TOSC 2025

"Innovate, Collaborate, Elevate"

With great honor and anticipation, I am happy to announce the 78th meeting of the Texas Orthodontic Study Club to be held in Austin, Texas at the Downright Austin A Renaissance Hotel on January 31-February 1, 2025.

When I was accepted into my orthodontic residency at the University of Southern California, I was very excited about the prospect of working under Rick McLaughlin. After all, he is the “M” in MBT. He is definitely someone whom I consider to be on the Mount Rushmore of orthodontics.

After graduating from residency, I moved to Texas and was invited to attend a TOSC meeting in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. I admit, I was a little nervous when I saw so many incredible cases in the model room. But that weekend in Idaho was amazing.

I met so many new friends who welcomed me and encouraged me. The group was filled with doctors worthy of being included on the Mount Rushmore of our profession. I knew that this study club would help me become the orthodontist I wanted to be.

I am shocked at how fast time goes by. I can hardly believe that I am now the President of this historic study club.

The TOSC board has been hard at work to make the 2025 meeting an incredible experience. I am pleased to announce the theme for our upcoming meeting:

“Innovate, Collaborate, Elevate.”

One of my favorite parts of TOSC is seeing how other doctors treat their cases. We may come from different backgrounds, but our commonality is treatment excellence. We learn through collaborating and sharing, both our successes and our failures.

I have avoided a pitfall or two from things shared with me at TOSC. I have taken home so many pearls that have helped me not only become a better doctor but also a better person.

I believe this is one of the greatest benefits TOSC can provide. We have the chance to learn from some of the greatest orthodontic minds in the world.

I believe at its core, TOSC is a place where we can bring our best, share it with each other, and then take this newfound insight home, better at what we do. We benefit from this, our team members benefit from this, and most importantly, our patients benefit from this.

I invite all of you to attend our annual meeting. I also challenge each of you to invite your friends and orthodontic colleagues to attend. I am so grateful that I was extended an invitation early in my career. It has made a tremendous impact on my life personally and professionally.

I promise you there is no other meeting like this, and we have prepared a lineup of compelling experts both in and outside of our profession. You will return home from this meeting energized and better at what you do. I hope to see you in Austin!
